Shipping options

Under Modules > Shipping methods > Shipping options you will find the following configuration options:

Shipping country & postal code of the shipping location:

Enter here the country and the postal code from which shipments are sent.

Maximum weight that can be shipped as a package:

Enter the maximum possible weight per package. The entry is made in kilograms, using a period as the decimal separator. The entries 31,5kg or 31,5 are therefore not correct; in this example the maximum weight must be entered as 31.5.

Attention

An entry must always be made in this field, as otherwise error messages may occur. However, it is possible to set the weight to fictitious values such as 999999.

Package empty weight:

If you want to take the weight of the packaging into account in the shipping costs, you can enter a fixed value here, for example 0.4 if the packaging should always be taken into account at 400g. This is optional.

Weight increase in %:

This entry is also optional and is only taken into account if the package empty weight has not been filled in. So you have the option of either specifying the package empty weight as a fixed weight or a weight increase that amounts to a certain percentage of the product weight. If, when calculating the shipping costs, you assume that the weight of the packaging will always be approx. 10% of the total weight, enter a 10 here.

Shipping cost display in product info & shopping cart:

These two options ensure that the links to the shipping cost information are shown in the product and in the shopping cart. Please note that the display in the shopping cart is only possible if the display of the links has also been activated for the product info.

Display shipping weight in the shopping cart:

If you wish, you can also have the shipping weight displayed in the shopping cart by activating this option.
